Holiday Cottage on Exmoor National Park

Situated in the very attractive and popular Oare River Valley one of the most scenic valleys within Exmoor National Park, and made famous by RD Blackmore’s Lorna Doone.

The area is very popular for both locals and tourists throughout the year, and the Old Schoolhouse is a wonderful base from which to enjoy the very varied landscape of this part of Exmoor

The Old Schoolhouse is a period property dating from the 18th century. The cottage has 4 bedrooms and sleeps up to 8. The ground floor includes a sitting room with a stone Inglenook fireplace and wood burner, dining room with a stone & brick built fireplace,  kitchen, which has a wonderful view to the rear of the property and ground floor twin bedroom, separate toilet and bathroom. The Victorian School Room playroom includes a table tennis table, a small billiards table and dartboard.

 On the first floor is one large double bedroom with additional Z bed and en-suite shower room; one twin and one single bedroom.              Bedrooms

Outside the property is a Drying room, Double garage, front and rear lawns and a patio.  The gardens are mainly lawn with adjoining flowerbeds and surrounded by stonewalls. The rear of the house provides complete privacy and seclusion and has views across the moorland. A stream runs past the cottage, which provides enormous enjoyment for young and old alike.
